Miss Kadie Jean Martha Lavalley

PITTSFIELD- Kadie Jean Martha Lavalley, 18 of Turner Ave., passed away on September 21, 2017 at Berkshire Medical Center after a long battle with depression and anxiety. She was born April 14, 1999 in Pittsfield the daughter of Roberta Kaufer and John Lavalley; she was a 2017 graduate of Wahconah Regional High School, Kadie was currently attending Berkshire Community College working towards a degree in Visual Arts with a goal of becoming an art teacher. Kadie was an accomplished artist, pianist and musician,and singer, during high school she was a member of the Wahconah Chorus. She loved swimming, collecting, animal rescue and making people smile. She had an infectious laugh and never spoke a bad word about anyone. Kadie leaves her mother Roberta Kaufer, father John Lavalley, her papa bear Bear McHugh, sisters Alexandria Sniezek and her husband Mark of Smyrna, Georgia, Taylor Lavalley of Dalton, Shelby Egee of Pittsfield, Kelsey Lavalley of Pittsfield. Her maternal grandparents Paulette Kaufer of Fayetteville, GA, maternal uncle and aunt Anton A. Kaufer and his wife Betsy of Kalispell, MT and Melissa K. McGraw and her husband Timothy of Fayetteville, Georgia. Paternal aunts Judy Boone and her husband David of Pittsfield, Ann Lavalley-Vachula and her husband Timothy of Adams, uncles Raymond Lavalley and his wife Priscilla of Pittsfield, Richard Lavalley and his wife Carol of Cheshire and Joseph Lavalley of Pittsfield. Grandfather Edward McHugh and uncle Christopher & Tina McHugh. Her nephew Bradley Maverick Sniezek. Many loving cousins, her best friend Puffy and close friend Trevor Squires. Kadie loved her pet guinea pigs Lilo and Lilith, dogs Pearl, Walker, Erin and her cat Tigger. Kadie was a kind loving person loved by more friends than her family can count, that are saddened by her passing. She was predeceased by her grandfather Anton F. Kaufer in 2015, grandmother Marjorie Jean Lavalley in 2007, grandfather Henry Lavalley in 1995, grandmother Cynthia McHugh in 2002 and a cousin Michael Lavalley on December 20, 2016. FUNERAL NOTICE- Funeral services for Kadie Lavalley will be held at the BARTLETT WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME. Calling hours will be held prior to the service , with a short service by Monsignor Michael Shershanovich followed by a Celebration of her life at the Dalton VFW, 366 E Housatonic St., Dalton, MA 01226. Donations in memory of Kadie are suggested to Berkshire Coalition for Suicide Prevention or NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) in care of the funeral home 525 Main St., Dalton, MA 01226.
