Mr. Raymond T. Eastwood

DALTON- Raymond T. Eastwood, 94, formerly of Eleanor Rd., passed away February 24, 2017 at Mt. Greylock Extended Care Facility with his family at his side. He was born in Wayville, NY on October 16, 1922, the son of Albert H. and Clara McKeon Eastwood; he graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1940. Ray served in the US ARMY as an MP during World War II from December 1942 until his discharge in December 1945; he was deployed to the European Theater in Normandy, Northern France and the Rhineland, with Company F 354th Infantry Regiment. He was employed at General Electric for 44 years, retiring January 1, 1985, he started his career as winder in transformer manufacturing and when he retired he was a chip designer in the ordnance manufacturing division; and a member of the GE Quarter Century Club. Ray was a member of the First Congregational Church of Dalton. He enjoyed stamp collecting, wood carving, coin collecting, camping, listening to music and loved watching western movies. He enjoyed traveling to Maine and especially loved his visits to Bar Harbor, he would start planning his next trip there as soon as he got home from his most recent trip. Ray was a 61-year Mason and member of the New Moon Lodge A.F. & A. M. in Pittsfield. Ray married the former Virginia A. Ashley on March 30, 1946; she passed away April 3, 2009. He is survived by his daughter Bonnie L. Eastwood of Dalton, son Wayne A. Eastwood and his wife Susan of Pittsfield and Largo, FL, grandchildren Scott M. Eastwood, Amy Sue Little, Christopher Eastwood, seven great grandchildren, sister Doris Bastion and his beloved grand dogs Teddy Bear and Little Angel. He was predeceased by brothers Donald and Russell Eastwood. FUNERAL NOTICE- A graveside service for Mr. Raymond T. Eastwood will be held Wednesday March 1, 2017 at 11:30AM in the Ashuelot Cemetery in Dalton, with Rev. Henry Pascual, officiating. There will be an hour of visitation prior to the service starting at 10AM at the BARTLETT WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME. Ray’s family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to the staff of Mt.
