Mrs. Andrea J. Lancia

Mrs. Andrea J. Lancia, 75, of Pittsfield, passed away at her home on Sunday, July 10, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Pittsfield, MA, on April 13, 1947, the daughter of the late George and Irene Layden Beattie, she graduated from St. Joseph’s High School in 1965 and later attended classes at Berkshire Community College. Andrea was employed by General Electric and General Dynamics for nearly 30 years, where she worked in the contracts office. She also owned AJ’s Carriage House in Lanesboro where many good times were had with friends from her softball and bowling teams. After she left General Dynamics, she was an office manager for Madden Chiropractic, and a bookkeeper for Joan Accuosti Chiropractic and Dr. Andrea Bodine until she retired in 2021. Andrea loved the ocean and was a frequent visitor of Newport, RI. Among many things, she enjoyed being in the company of her friends, whether at the old Elbow Room in Pittsfield or taking a day trip to the casino. Andrea thought the world of her family, and her nieces and nephews were her pride and joy. She never missed an opportunity to spend time with them, whether it be at a get-together for family game night, or hosting one of her famous Fourth of July picnics. She loved to go to the stock car races at Lebanon Valley Speedway to watch her nephew Brian race. Andrea was a treasurer for B.P.O.E 272 Lodge of the Elks of Pittsfield, as well as a social member of the Polish Falcons. Andrea is survived by her husband, Anthony Lancia, with whom she recently celebrated her 32nd wedding anniversary. She leaves behind her sisters, Margaret Seery (Paul) and Barbara Rogers, and several nieces and nephews, many of whom considered her a motherly figure in their lives. Besides her parents, Andrea was predeceased by her brother George Beattie. Funeral Notice: Funeral services for Mrs. Andrea J. Lancia will be Friday, July 15, 2022 with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 1:30pm at Sacred Heart Church, celebrated by the Rev. A. Peter Gregory, Pastor Emeritus of St. Charles Church. Calling hours will be Thursday, July 14, 2022, from 4 pm to 6 pm at the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North Street, Pittsfield MA 01201. She loved purple, so the family suggests wearing something purple in her honor. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in care of the Dwyer Funeral Home.
