Mrs. Barbara E. Bradway

Mrs. Barbara E. Bradway, of Pittsfield, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, just months after celebrating her 79th birthday. Born in Pittsfield, MA, on March 9, 1946, daughter of the late Richard and Avis Davenport Ingram, she graduated from Lee High School with the class of 1964. For the majority of her career, Barbara was employed by the Pittsfield Public Schools, where she worked in the cafeteria. She enjoyed seeing the kids coming through each day, and they also looked forward to seeing their favorite “lunch lady”. It was from there that she retired after 14 years of dedicated service. Among many things, she enjoyed summers at Pontoosuc Lake. She loved reading, and always a good crossword or wordsearch. Barbara was predeceased by her beloved husband, Brian Bradway, with whom she would have celebrated her 59th wedding anniversary on June 4th, the day of her passing. Brian passed away in 2023. She is survived by her three children, Ann Marie Charbonneau and her partner, Jay Ely, Andrea Stringer and her husband Paul, and Matthew Bradway. She leaves her four grandchildren, Nicholas Charbonneau and his wife Amanda, Sara Koeblin and her husband Richie, Katie Charbonneau and her husband Daniel, and Hannah Stringer and her fiancé, Nicholas Estrada. Barbara is also survived by her great grandson, Maxwell Koeblin, her two siblings, Claire Bercury, and Bill Ingram and his wife Julie, and, along with her husband’s family, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Additionally, Barbara leaves behind her lifelong best friend whom she met at the age of five, “the other Barbara Bradway”, who would both go on to marry Bradway brothers, and subsequently so, spent many years together having a great time. Barbara’s family would like to thank Home Instead and each of Barbara’s caregivers for their wonderful care and compassion throughout these last 2 years—we couldn’t have done this without your help. Funeral Notice: Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara E. Bradway will be Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 11am outdoors at the Unity Terrace at the Dwyer-Wellington Funeral Home in Pittsfield, 220 East St, Pittsfield MA 01201. There will be an hour of visitation at the funeral home prior to the service, from 10am to 11am. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Barbara’s memory can be made to the Berkshire Humane Society, 214 Barker Road, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
