Mrs. Christine E. Drosehn

Mrs. Christine E. Drosehn, of Peru, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 7, 2026, just weeks shy of celebrating her 66th birthday. Born in Pittsfield, MA, on October 22, 1960, daughter of the late Denford and Janet Broga Butler, she graduated from Wahconah Regional High School with the class of 1978. Christine’s family was her priority, and she loved every opportunity spent by their side. She raised her family with compassion, love, and a smile every step along the way. Among many things, Christine enjoyed being outdoors, especially when watching the birds and wildlife, gardening, or just decorating around the yard. She enjoyed crafting, and, above all else, being with her grandchildren. Christine is survived by her beloved husband, David Drosehn, with whom she would have celebrated her 47th wedding anniversary the 3rd of this November. She leaves behind her son Bryan Drosehn and his wife Jolene, her daughter Stephanie Ham, and 3 grandchildren, Wyatt Drosehn (her little dude) Emily Ham (her hero) and Xander Drosehn (her cuddle buddy). She is also survived by her brothers John Michael Butler and his wife Cindy, Christopher Butler, brother-in-law Edwin (Popsi) Drosehn, Donald Drosehn and Jonathan Drosehn. Christine also leaves behind her lifelong best friend Tamara Turner, with whom she spent countless nights drinking coffee and gabbing away, as well as her adoptive mother Carole Forward and all the members of the Hinsdale Dayz Committee. She will be missed by many family and friends. Christine spent her life caring for her kids and gave daycare to many others in her life. All the kids she watched were treated like her kids, and none of them have ever forgotten spending their childhood days with her. She gave and volunteered her time for years as a member of the Hinsdale Dayz Committee. Her happiest times were spending time with her kids and grandkids on family vacations to Maine. Nubble lighthouse in York Maine was her favorite. She loved her animals, whether it was her dog Casper, her two cats Pumpkin and Patches, or the countless birds, squirrels and chipmunks that visited while sitting on the front deck each evening. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her Father and Mother-in-law Edwin C. Drosehn and Kathleen Drosehn Funeral Notice: A celebration of Christine’s life will be held at a later date, notice of which will be published when details are finalized. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Hinsdale Volunteer Fire Association.
