Mrs. Cynthia "Cindy" Hill

Mrs. Cynthia L. “Cindy” Hill, 67, of Pittsfield, was welcomed into our Lord’s kingdom after a long battle with cancer on Tuesday June 10, 2014. Born in Pittsfield, April 7, 1947, the daughter of Jimmy and Helen Higgins Frank, she attended the local schools and was a 1965 graduate of Pittsfield High School. Continuing her education she attended Berkshire Community College and also completed many banking and insurance education courses throughout her career. Cindy worked in the banking and insurance business for over forty years. She was employed at the former Berkshire County Savings Bank for 19 years as a personal banker, selling life insurance. She received many local and state awards and was promoted to branch manager in the North Adams office. After the bank stopped selling life insurance, she went to work for the former Reynolds, Barnes, and Hebb Insurance Agency as an Insurance Broker. Most recently, she was employed as an Insurance Broker for Berkshire Insurance Group until late last year when her health forced her retirement. She was an active communicant of St. Agnes Church in Dalton. She volunteered at their craft fair, visited the shut -ins of the parish, and delivered communion to the local nursing homes. She was also a volunteer Ombudsman through Elder Services and was active in the Boston Terrier Rescue League as well as the Boxer League. Cindy was a loving wife to her late husband, David M. Hill. They were married July 24, 1965. He died February 15, 2003. She is survived by her three children, Helen E. Hill Martin of Kingsport, TN, David Shane Hill and his wife Kathleen of Windsor, and Jennifer Hill Benedetti and her husband Keith of Mashpee, her sister, Lillian Ketcham of Pittsfield, her brother in law Bruce A. Ketcham of Westport MA, six grandchildren, Austin Martin, Taylor Anne Martin, Luke Martin, Katlyn Hill, Dalton Hill, and Brody Benedetti, her nephew, Bruce Ketcham, her niece, Andrea Schaller and her husband Chip, and their children, Quinn and Hazel, and many cousins and their families. FUNERAL NOTICE The funeral for Mrs. Cynthia L. “Cindy” Hill will be held on Saturday at 8:00AM from the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North St., Pittsfield, MA, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:00 AM at St. Agnes Church celebrated by Rev. Christopher Malatesta, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Josephs Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Friday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Agnes Church or Camp Holy Cross in care of the funeral home. DONATIONS CANNOT BE MADE ONLINE, but may be through the Dwyer Funeral Home.
