Dolores Marie Morin

Dolores Marie Morin died peacefully on January 12, 2025, at Kimball Farms in Lenox, Massachusetts, at the age of 91. Born Dolores M. Bourdages on June 21, 1933, in Bonaventure, Quebec, Canada, she was the daughter of Evelyn and Firmin Bourdages. Following her marriage to Donald P. Morin on June 30, 1956, she moved from Montreal to Schenectady, New York, and the couple later settled in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. While raising three children, Dolores obtained her LPN nursing degree and worked at Hillcrest Hospital until her retirement in 1991. She influenced her children with frequent trips to the library, museums, nature sanctuaries, her athletic interests (swimming, cross-country skiing, bicycling, sailing), reading, and travel. She was an excellent cook. As an early viewer of Julia Child’s PBS show, THE FRENCH CHEF, and without the benefit of videotape, she would scribble down recipes as quickly as possible. She had an infectious joie de vivre, strong intellect, generous heart, and a profound sense of social justice. She was an avid bridge player with Pittsfield Seniors and during her years wintering in Seminole, Florida, with her beloved husband, Donald. She was the eldest of ten children and the sole sibling to immigrate to the United States. She was an Aunt to over twenty nieces and nephews. She is survived by her siblings in Canada: Lucille, Amedee, Arline, May, Ronald, and Sylvie Bourdages, who will miss her dearly. She was predeceased by her siblings Thomas, Nora, and Lorena and by her husband of 63 years, Donald Morin. She will be deeply missed by her children Nancy (Gerhard Radius), Michael (Stephie Fleck), and Alan (Margaret Round) and grandchildren Sydney and Lewis Morin. Funeral Notice: Funeral services for Mrs. Dolores M. Morin will be Friday, March 14, 2025, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 12:30pm at Sacred Heart Church, celebrated by the Rev. Steven Montesanti, Pastor. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling hours will be directly prior to the service, from 10 am to 12 noon, at the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North Street, Pittsfield MA 01201. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires, 877 South Street, Pittsfield MA 01201.
