Mrs. Grace A. Vallone

Grace A. Vallone, 72, of Pittsfield, Massachusetts passed away Saturday surrounded by her loving family. She was a breast cancer survivor before succumbing to colon cancer. Born in New Lebanon, NY, the daughter of the late Margaret and Frank Havranek, Grace was a graduate of New Lebanon High School class of 1966. Upon graduation, she graduated from the Berkshire Business School and began her career in the banking industry. She spent the majority of her banking career working at Greylock Federal Credit Union working her way up to Assistant Branch Manager at the Pittsfield Merrill Road location until she retired in 2017. Grace also managed financials for Vallone’s Automotive, owned and operated by her husband. Grace was a regular communicant of St. Charles Borromeo church and an active member of the community. She had participated in community events such as Habitat for Humanity, Relay for Life, and Junior Achievement. Her hobbies included spending time at the casino with her friends and going to the beach. Another hobby that was her pride and joy was making Christmas cookies and passing them out to friends and family near and far. While her hobbies brought her happiness, her true joy was with her family, especially her grandchildren. She supported all of their activities including sports, school activities, or anything they aspired to do. She is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Frank J. Vallone, Jr. Grace leaves her two daughters, Stephanie Vallone of Pittsfield, and Elizabeth Puleri along with her husband Jeff, both of Pittsfield. Grace is also survived by her twin sister Edith Ward and her husband Charles of Saratoga Springs, NY, and sister Kathleen Kazura and husband Al of Pittsfield. Grace’s grandchildren and family were everything to her. She leaves her granddaughter Gabrielle (Mazzeo) Ziter, her husband Troy Ziter, and great granddaughter Braelynn, granddaughters Olivia and Haley Mazzeo, Elyse Puleri, and grandson Brent Arseneau. She was also very close with her nieces and nephews. Funeral Notice: Funeral services for Mrs. Grace A. Vallone will be Friday, June 25, 2021, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Charles Church, celebrated by the Rev. A. Peter Gregory, Pastor Emeritus. Entombment will be private. Calling hours will be Thursday, June 24, 2021, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires or the Berkshire Cancer Center, in care of the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201, in her memory. Donations CANNOT be made online, but may be made through the Dwyer Funeral Home.
