Mrs. Helen F. McIntyre

Mrs. Helen F. Farrell McIntyre, 82, of Pittsfield, passed away on Friday May 8, 2015 at Berkshire Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Born in Pittsfield, August 17, 1932 the daughter of Edward and Sadie Nestor Farrell, she attended the former Pontoosuc and Crane schools then went on and graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1950. Mrs. McIntyre was employed for 17 years as a Sales Clerk at the former England Brothers Department Store until its closing. She was then employed for a time at Hickory Farms at the Berkshire Mall and also worked in the mail room at Pittsfield City Hall. For many years she worked at the Ward 3 voting polls at Providence Court. A longtime communicant of the former St. Mary of the Morning Star Church, she was most recently a communicant of St. Charles Church. She enjoyed her family and bowling at Candle Lanes. She and her husband recently celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary this past April 16th. They were married in Witchata Falls, Texas. She also leaves her five children, Donna McIntyre of Pittsfield, Mike McIntyre and his wife Brenda of Clay, NY, Steve McIntyre and his wife Maureen of Waterford, NY, Heidi Maxwell and her husband Andy of Hellam, PA, and Colleen Kays and her husband Dan of Dalton, three sisters, Geraldine Kelly, Marilyn Viale and her husband Craig, and Fran Tierney and her husband Pete, eleven grandchildren, Lindsay, Ryan, Megan, Marinda, and Troy McIntyre, Jake and Molly Maxwell, and Tyler, Alexis, Rachel and Sean Kays, and one great grandchild, Davion McIntyre. She also leaves numerous loving nieces and nephews who are a big part her and her family’s lives. FUNERAL NOTICE The funeral for Helen F. McIntyre will be Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at 9:00 A.M. from the Dwyer Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. Charles Church celebrated by Rev. A. Peter Gregory, pastor. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Monday from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Charles Church or the American Cancer Society in care of the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
