Jeric T. Black

Jeric Black passed away suddenly at his home at 181 King Street, Pittsfield, MA. Jeric Terrall Black was born in Pittsfield, MA, on April 24, 1982 to Lionel Eric Black and Melinda Hall Black. He attended Westside Community School until grade 3, before moving to Boston, MA in 1989 with his mother and brother, D-Juan. Jeric attended the Joseph Lee Elementary School, where he was one of the best swimmers on the swim team. He loved to swim. Jeric graduated the fifth grade where he attended the John T McCormik Jr High School in Boston MA. In 1996, he graduated Jr High and returned to Pittsfield with his father, where he attended Pittsfield High School and excelled in the culinary program. Jeric was employed at Friendly’s Restaurant for several years in Pittsfield, where he worked as a chef. He also worked at Panera Bread part time in Pittsfield. Jeric loved music, and life in general. His children and family meant everything to him. His smile radiated. His laugh was contagious and made you laugh—so happy—no matter what. He devoted hard work and dedication to the Black Lives Matter movement and his joy for his clothing line business, "AllAboutYouClothing". Besides his parents, Eric (wife, Melody) and Melinda (partner, Rodney Gittens), Jeric leaves to mourn his loving wife, Krystal Black. He leaves his siblings with his mother, D-Juan Eric Black (wife, Danielle), Marcel Teixeira Ingram Jr, and Melia H Teixeira Ingram. With his dad, he leaves his siblings D-Juan Black (wife, Danielle), LaToya Gillyard, Desiree Eason, Nishelle Black, and Kayanna Black. Jeric is survived by his aunts, Linda Black of NJ, Michelle Black of GA, Maxine Hall of NC and Michellene Page of Pittsfield, as well as his uncles, Maurice Black of GA, Lawrence Black of TN, James O’Neal Hall of North Adams, MA, and Ronald Black of GA. Jeric leaves 3 beautiful children, Alyza Black, 20 yrs, of Pittsfield, Jayon Black, 16, of Dalton, and Imani Black, 10 years of Pittsfield. He leaves his pride and joy, his grandson, Jakobi E Ridley, and 6 amazing stepchildren, Ciana Jade, of SC, Tavian Bassett, Musa Thompson, and Seth Barton, Ian O’ Hearn and Emma O’Hearn, as well as a host of many loving cousins, family, and friends. Funeral Notice: A walk-through memorial for Jeric will be Saturday, February 12, 2022, from 11 am to 1 pm at the Dwyer-Wellington Funeral Home, 220 East Street, Pittsfield MA 01201. Directly following the walk-through, Jeric’s family invites everybody to join them for a reception at the Second Congregational Church, 50 Onota Street, Pittsfield MA 01201. Due to the recent rise in Covid cases, to best ensure everybody’s health, all who attend these services are required to wear a face mask.
