Judith Ann Fyfe

Judith Ann Fyfe, 87, of Pittsfield, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 6, 2026. Born in Ludlow, MA, on May 7, 1939, daughter of the late John Smith and Marjorie Moxom Smith, she graduated from Lenox High School with the class of 1957. In 1992, Judy earned her nursing degree at Berkshire Community College and was awarded the distinction of student of the year and honored with a Falconer award in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the college. Judy practiced nursing at Berkshire Medical Center as a labor and delivery nurse where she cared for mothers and babies for 25 years. She also volunteered in missionary work as a registered nurse in Ecuador. Judy was an accomplished quilter who volunteered with the Friends of Hancock Shaker Village to create quilts that helped to raise funds in support of educational programs. Judy is survived by her beloved husband of 27 years, Donald E. Fyfe, whom she married on July 24, 1999. She was a loving sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Judy will be greatly missed by her 6 children and their spouses: Christine Ward (Greg), Eugene Bruce Brunelle (Michèle), Stephen Brunell, Sharon Brunell, Janine Brunell Looker (Dave), and Elizabeth Brunell-Dunham (Peter) as well as her 3 stepchildren and their spouses: Lance Fyfe (Elena), Kelly Bruno (Ron), and Wendy Calkins (Tom). Judy delighted in her 18 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She took great joy in their company and many accomplishments. Judy grew up in Lenox with her 4 siblings with whom she shared many memories of a happy childhood. She leaves behind two sisters, Elaine Hunter and Joanne Whitten (Bill) and her brother Allen Smith (Betty). She was predeceased by her brother Gary Smith. Judy had an adventurous spirit! She enjoyed hiking, geocaching, helping with nursing home sing-alongs, and spending time with her large family. She and Don paddled in several Josh Billings Runagrounds and traveled to all 50 United States mostly in their camper van. She was a wizard at Scrabble and a champion baker. Please join us in celebrating her exuberant life. Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Dwyer-Wellington Funeral Home in Pittsfield, 220 East Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201. Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Judy’s memory may be made to the Pittsfield Community Food Pantry, 110 South Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201, where Judy and Don were dedicated volunteers.
