Katherine Osborn DiNicola

Katherine R. Osborn DiNicola, 46, of Clifton Park, NY, died Saturday, August 13, 2016, three days after her 46th birthday at the Hospice Inn, St. Peter’s Hospital, Albany, NY, after a long illness. Born in Pittsfield, MA on August 10, 1970, she was the daughter of Ralph V. Osborn, Jr. and Rita Mackey Osborn. She graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1988 and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology from the Mass. College of Liberal Arts in 1995. Kathy moved to Scottsdale, AZ with her husband, Mark in 1996. They returned to Mass. in 2003. She spent her life working in the insurance industry, primarily in worker’s compensation. She obtained her New York State Broker’s License in Property and Casualty in January 2015. She enjoyed spending summers in Chatham, Cape Cod, with her sister and family, shopping, cooking and spending time with her friends. She also loved the time spent with her beloved cat, Clovis, and was very involved with animal causes and charities. She leaves her husband, Mark V. DiNicola, whom she married on May 24, 1997 at Cranwell Resort Spa and Golf Club in Lenox, MA. Besides her husband, she leaves her mother, Rita Mackey Osborn of Pittsfield, her sister Elizabeth A. Bruce and her husband Dennis of Acton, MA; a brother Shaun C. Osborn of Pittsfield. She also leaves her adored nephew and niece, Andrew Bruce and Caroline Bruce of Acton, an aunt, Mary L. Ward of Pittsfield; cousins Michael L. Ward and his wife Jennifer and their children Brendan and Fiona of Pittsfield; Daniel T. Ward and his wife LiSing of Boston, MA and Margaret L. Ward of Newtonville, MA. She also leaves her in-laws, Rita and Mario DiNicola of Pittsfield, brother in law, Christopher DiNicola and his wife Jody of Pittsfield and sister in law Monica DiNicola of Pawtucket, RI. She was predeceased by her father on August 11, 2013 and her maternal grandparents, Lawrence and Mary Mackey. Funeral Notice: Funeral services for Katherine R. Osborn DiNicola will be Friday, August 19, 2016 at 9 a.m. at the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North St., Pittsfield, MA with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes Church, Dalton, celebrated by Rev. Christopher Malatesta, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Thursday, August 18, 2016 from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arizona Humane Society or to The Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital, Albany, NY, care of the Dwyer Funeral Home, in her memory.
