Mrs. Patricia Hoag

Patricia Hoag, 79, of Melbourne Rd., passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at home, after a brief battle with cancer. Born on April 12, 1936, she was the daughter of Patrick and Anna Mae Fitzpatrick Toomey. She attended Pittsfield Catholic Schools and graduated from St. Joseph High School. Mrs. Hoag most recently worked at Canyon Ranch in Lenox, for ten years. She had previously worked as an Operator for New England Telephone Company and for the Pittsfield School system. She and her husband owned and operated Friends Market and Liquor Store in Dalton for 14 years. She was a communicant of St. Mark’s Church. Patricia enjoyed baking and traveling. She also loved quilting, sewing and Nantucket Basket making. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her four children, Colleen Bartini and her husband Mark, Kim Wendling and her companion Bruce Meissner, Brian Hoag and his wife Lisa and Karen Hoag-Patti and her husband Geoffrey; a sister, Julia DeCarlo and a brother, Ernie Belair; a brother in law, Paul Hoag and his wife Janet; 5 grandchildren, Megan Kane and her husband Jon, Glenna Havens and her husband Bob, Matt Hoag, Hunter Hoag and Skye Patti; 4 great grandchildren, Audrey Havens, Chase Kane and twins, Booker and Henry Havens. She also leaves her springer spaniel friend, Libby. She was predeceased by her siblings, Elaine Maschino, Rosemary Wrinn and William Toomey. Pat was also very recently predeceased by her husband, Glenn M. Hoag (Dad/Papa), who left us on August 10, 2015. Apparently mom (Gramma) had a plan to be with him on their 58th wedding anniversary which is October 26th. While we will miss you both dearly, we are at peace that you are together again. Happy Anniversary, we will be celebrating with you. Until we meet again….. We love you. Funeral Notice: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mrs. Patricia A. Hoag will be Friday, October 23, 2015 at 2 p.m. at St. Mark’s Church, celebrated by Rev. John Salatino, pastor. Following the Funeral Service there will be a Celebration of Patricia’s life at Mazzeo’s Restaurant. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires, care of the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North St., Pittsfield MA, in her memory.
