Mr. Paul M. Gerson

Paul Michael Gerson passed away unexpectedly on November 4, 2023, at his home in Pittsfield. Born in Clinton, Connecticut on March 14, 1961, he was the son of the late Noel Gerson and Marilyn Allan. Paul graduated from high school in Connecticut, where he went on to serve in the Navy . He then relocated to South Florida where he started working in the restaurant where he learned the chef trade and became highly gifted. Later, Paul moved and found home in the Berkshires, where he went on to become the executive chef at Williams College, Café Lucia and Camp Lenox. Paul was extremely talented. If he had an idea and he put his mind to it, he could, and would, accomplish anything! He was a self-taught avid wood and metal worker, and his craftsmanship was one of a kind. He had an amazing talent for making custom knives, axes, and hatchets. He always had exciting new ideas for projects! Paul also enjoyed trips to the ocean for bass fishing and enjoyed cooking for his family and friends. He was so proud of the things he taught himself! Paul truly gifted us with his great sense of humor, intelligence, ingenuity, and thoughtfulness. Paul's greatest joy was becoming a father. In 1994, he met Doreen, and he immediately took on four children to raise, love and care for as his very own. He did so with such strength, passion and commitment. Doreen and Paul then went on to have one more child together, Sean. His birth was the greatest moment in Paul's life. Sean was later diagnosed with across-the-board disabilities and was complete special needs. But, no matter how effected Sean was, Paul loved him exactly as he was and was completely devoted to his care, never wavering. He truly was the light in Paul's life, his little bear, his best buddy, and very best friend. Paul leaves his former wife , Doreen Gerson and their five children. Anthony Dargi Amber Dargi, Jason Dargi (Kerstin) , Brittany Dargi (Kevin) and Sean Gerson, as well as his beloved grandchildren , Lanna, Ava and Stella Dargi. Adrian, Syncerity and Lyrenzo Astore, and Jett Lyon Dargi. Paul is also survived by two sisters Margo and Michelle Ross , along with many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services: Funeral services for Paul M. Gerson will be Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at 4 pm at the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North Street, Pittsfield, MA, 01201.
