Mrs. Rosemary O'Brien

With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Rosemary (Roey) McCulloch Kroboth O’Brien on March 12, 2026. Born in Pittsfield, MA, on February 24, 1945, daughter of Marion Elizabeth Callahan and George Robert McCulloch. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 28 years, Douglas W. O’Brien, her children and seven grandchildren, Dr. Elizabeth A. Kroboth (Kaleigh, Ashlyn, Brendan and Emme Ann) and Joseph C. Kroboth, his wife Michelle (Logan, Owen, and Ella Rose), and her eldest sibling Sister Helen D. McCulloch, R.S.C.J. Rosemary joins her two daughters, Kathleen Marie Kroboth and Ann Marie Kroboth, her parents, Betty and Bob McCulloch, her sister, Ann (Boonie) McCulloch, and brother James (Jim) Callahan McCulloch in eternal peace. She is survived by many loving nephews, a niece, cousins and many special lifelong friends. Rosemary (Roey) graduated from the Convent of the Sacred Heart, Kenwood in Albany, N.Y. in 1962 and continued her education at Maryville College in St. Louis, MO, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1966. Rosemary taught at Crosby Junior High School prior to becoming a full-time housewife and mother to her four children. She pursued an interest in real estate, receiving her license in 1996. Rosemary was a well-known successful real estate agent in Berkshire County for over 25 years prior to retiring. Rosemary was a devout Catholic and a lifelong parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pittsfield, MA. She was a strong woman resilient in her faith in the Lord despite the unimaginable loss of her daughters, Kathleen Marie and Ann Marie. Rosemary was deeply loved by her husband, family and friends and will be greatly missed. We truly appreciate all the love, prayers, condolences, and kind words extended to our family. Visitation and Rosary Vigil will be held on March 22, 2026, from 2-4 pm at Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201 Funeral Mass will be held on Monday March 23, 2026, at 11am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 191 Elm Street Pittsfield, MA 01201 celebrated by Very Rev. Christopher Malatesta, Vicar General/ Moderator of the Curia. Burial to follow at Saint Joseph’s Cemetery 222 Pecks Road, Pittsfield, MA 01201 In lieu of flowers, charitable tribute donations may be made in Rosemary’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, Cure Alzheimer’s Fund, or The Dementia Society for America in care of Dwyer Funeral Home. Donations may also be made in Rosemary’s memory to Brigham and Women’s Hospital Lung Transplant Research in care of the Dwyer Funeral Home.
