Mr. Stephen C. Lancaster

Mr. Stephen C. Lancaster, 60 of Peru, MA, passed away peacefully at his home with his daughters at his side, on Thursday, January 5, 2023, after a brave fight with cancer. He was born in Hartford, CT on May 29, 1962, a son of the late Kenneth Lancaster and Emma Parsons. He attended Lanesborough schools and graduated from Sheridan Vocational-Technical School, Fort Lauderdale, FL. in 1985. At the time of his passing Stephen was employed as a heavy machine operator with LB Corporation. He also owned and operated Lancaster Construction. Stephen had many hobbies. He was a master of all trades and could fix anything. Those who knew him, knew there was never an obstacle he could not complete. He took pride in everything he did. He enjoyed wood working, carpentry, and mechanics. He enjoyed going to sporting events, and was a fan of the Boston Bruins, New England Patriots and NASCAR. He was a Ford enthusiast and loved restoring his Ford Mustangs. He loved the outdoors, animals and had a passion for collecting antiques. He enjoyed cooking and trying out new recipes. Stephen’s two greatest loves were his daughters Crystal and Emily. He was very proud of who they grown to be. He enjoyed visiting his daughter Crystal in Arizona as often as he could, and both shared a passion for gems and jewels, and going to the Barrett Jackson Auction every year. He enjoyed going to all of Emily’s sporting events as a child, he was always there to cheer her on. Together they loved all animals, bringing home every animal that crossed their path. He undeniably loved his children with all his heart. He had plans of one day moving to Arizona and building a cabin and leaving his daughters his legacy. Stephen leaves his daughters Crystal Cantarella of Goodyear, AZ and Emily Lancaster of Peru, MA. Sisters Althea Brown of East Machias, ME, Vonda Lee Dewey of Pittsfield, MA and brother Rick Elsmore of Kingsland, GA and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Kenneth Lancaster, mother Emma Parsons and brother Gary Lancaster. Funeral Notice: Calling hours for Stephen C. Lancaster will be Saturday, January 21, 2023, from 1pm to 3pm at the Dwyer-Wellington Funeral Home in Dalton, 525 Main Street, Dalton, MA 01226. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the Berkshire Humane Society, 214 Barker Road, Pittsfield MA 01201.
