Mr. Thomas K. Adams

Mr. Thomas K. Adams, 73, of Pittsfield, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, January 7, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Pittsfield, MA, on July 8, 1950, son of the late John Hubert Adams and June Irene (Galeucia) Adams, he graduated from Wahconah Regional High School and later earned his associate degree in Nursing from Berkshire Community College. Tom was a Vietnam War veteran. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1970, and proudly served his country until 1976. Following his time in the military, Tom began working at GE for the next 25 years. After that, he became an aide and worked with HospiceCare in the Berkshires while going through nursing school. He was employed as a nurse by Berkshire Medical Center (13 years), Amedysis (9 years), Maxum (15 years) and AdLib (3 years), until his retirement in 2022. Among many things, he loved sports, more specifically the New York Giants and Yankees, and the Boston Bruins. He had a passion for traveling as a civilian as he saw the world in the navy. He was a history buff which formed a passion for trivia. He loved his family above all else. Thomas is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 33 years, the former Ann Marie Monteleone Therrien Adams, whom he married on February 14, 1991. He leaves behind his children, David Adams and girlfriend Abigail Disbrow of Pittsfield, MA and Jacqueline Adams of Dalton, MA and boyfriend Kobby Dadon of Pittsfield, MA, as well as his stepchildren, Christopher Therrien and girlfriend Wendy of Sarasota, FL, Matthew Therrien and wife Corie of Rock Hill, SC, Alexander Therrien and wife Debra of Litchfield, VA, and Andrew Therrien and wife Amy of Pittsfield, MA. Tom is also survived by his nine grandchildren, Julia Dortch, Tessa Therrien, William Therrien, Karissa Therrien, Michael Therrien, Madison Therrien, Olivia Therrien, Jameson Therrien, and Jackson Therrien, as well as his great grandson, Christopher. He leaves behind his siblings, Dwight Adams and wife Diana, Kurt Adams, Kristin Gordon and husband Brian, Lynn Welker, and Samuel Adams. As well as many beloved nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Noreen Wright and brother Gary Adams. Funeral Notice: Funeral services for Mr. Thomas K. Adams will be Friday, January 12, 2024 with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 12:30 pm at Sacred Heart Church, celebrated by the Rev. Steven Montesanti, Pastor. Burial will be at a later date. Calling hours for Tom will be Thursday, January 11, 2024, from 4pm to 6pm at the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North St., Pittsfield MA 01201.
