Mrs. Beverly Ann Heidel, 88, of Pittsfield passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 1, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Holyoke, MA on January 12, 1934 she was the daughter of George and Irene Fortier Dorman. She graduated from Pittsfield High School with the class of 1951. Beverly was employed by the City of Pittsfield in the Treasurer's office and had previously worked at Berkshire Life Insurance Company. Among many things she enjoyed traveling with her family, wintering in Florida for 17 years, attending Tanglewood performances, and playing mahjong with her friends. An avid baseball and football fan, she was a lover of all things Tom Brady. Beverly was predeceased by her beloved husband of 61 years, Jerrold E. Heidel (2014), daughter Nancy A. Heidel (2009), son David R. Heidel (1975), sister Sandra Legge (1987), and her yorkie, Bella (2021). She is survived by her daughter, Carol H. Pray, and her husband Scott W. Pray of Rehoboth, MA and her two grandchildren, Kathryn L Pray of Providence RI and Zachary E Pray of South Boston, MA. She also leaves her in-laws, Phillip and Frances Heidel of Pittsfield, Richard and Melinda Heidel of Boca Raton, FL,, and Lewis and Maureen Heidel of Las Cruces. New Mexico.She is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews. We deeply appreciate the efforts of Fran and Phil Heidel to deliver weekly Sunday dinner to Bev, especially during the Covid peaks. Their generosity of heart is infinite and admirable. A special note of gratitude for the tender care given at Berkshire Medical Center by the nursing staff, as well as the exceptional care given at Mount Carmel Rehab Facility. Our family will be eternally grateful to our lifelong friend and caregiver Joan Fields for her unwavering support provided to our family over many years. Funeral Notice: Calling hours for Mrs. Beverly A. Heidel will be on Friday, May 6, 2022 from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Dwyer-Wellington Funeral Home, 220 East Street, Pittsfield, MA. 01201. A graveside service at Pittsfield Cemetery will immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Beverly's memory may be made to the American Lung Association in care of the funeral home.
