Mrs. Georgette R. Lein Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mrs. Georgette R. Lein, age 90, of Pittsfield, passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2022. Born in Manchester, NH (on the west side), on February 24, 1932, the daughter of the late Rene` and Rose Lamy Paradis. She attended Villa Augustina High School. For 29 years, Georgette worked for the Pittsfield Public Schools, first as a cafeteria employee and then as a cafeteria manager. Georgette was an avid walker and walked daily to her job at Reid Middle School until her retirement in 1999. She loved her job and made many lasting friendships among the women with whom she worked. Georgette was deeply involved with St. Mary’s Church and served as a Eucharist Minister for many years. Through church, she met “The Picnic Group” and formed lifelong friendships. She enjoyed traveling, bowling, Tanglewood, going out to eat and spending quality time with her family. Georgette was predeceased by her beloved husband of 45 years, Herbert J. Lein Jr. whom she married on November 12, 1951. Herbert passed away on April 21, 1996. Georgette is survived by six children: Sandra Albano (Joseph), David Lein (Kathleen), Donna Baker, Patricia Ralston, Catherine McCarron (Michael), and Christine Croughwell (Dennis) and daughter-in-law Candace Lein. She is also survived by her sister Lorraine Arnold, 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, son James, her brother Roger (Lorraine), her sister Theresa(Ted) , brother-in-law Paul and former son- in-law Tom Ralston. The family would like to thank Mary Wilkinson, Starlene Lang and Kimball Farms and the Memory Care Unit for the extraordinary care they provided our mom. Funeral Notice: Funeral services for Mrs. Georgette Lein will be Thursday, July 7, 2022, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 am at St. Agnes Church, celebrated by the Rev. Christopher Malatesta, Pastor. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday, July 6, 2022 from 4 pm to 6 pm at the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North Street, Pittsfield MA 01201. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to St. Agnes Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in care of the funeral home.
