Lynette A. Warren of Pittsfield, MA died at her home Saturday, March 28th, accompanied by loving family and friends in her final days and hours, welcomed by God through Jesus Christ to eternal joy, rest and peace, her spirit free from the cancer that had taken her body. Children, grandchildren, relatives and friends who witnessed her courage facing her third cancer will remember her innumerable acts of hospitality, generosity and wisdom, a rich legacy we will cherish. Lynette was born in Great Barrington, Massachusetts on August 12th, 1943, the only child of Attilio (Tilly) and Mildred (Mim) Arcardi. In her younger years she enjoyed fishing and hunting with her father and basketball as a team sport. A graduate of Searles High School and thereafter the University of Massachusetts with a BA in Sociology, Lynette was a popular and fun loving friend to many during her school years. She was president of Sigma Kappa Sorority while at UMASS, where she met and later married Richard Warren in 1966. After living in proximity to various military bases during her husband’s service in Vietnam, the couple settled in Great Barrington and later Pittsfield, raising their 4 children. In addition to being a devoted mother, Lynette was a respected professional. She spent several decades as a social worker in area nursing homes, primarily Willowood in Great Barrington (now Fairview Common), where her special appreciation for the elderly help them to thrive. While in Pittsfield, Lynette and her husband were active members of Christian Assembly Church from 1986 to the present, serving in many ministries there, including various children’s ministries and the church food pantry. Lynette also joined her husband Dick on medical missions, including short term trips to Jamaica and Mexico and one long term service in Cambodia. Lynette was a lifelong golfer, participating in league play at area clubs in Great Barrington and Pittsfield. In recent years she enjoyed quilting for family and friends. She was an enthusiastic, faithful fan at her grandchildren’s many sporting events. Lynette was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Richard, in 2011. She will be greatly missed by her son Michael Warren and his wife Shelly of Longmeadow, MA; daughter Lee Rudin and her husband Tim of Lanesboro MA; son Daniel Keeyeon Warren and his wife Youngwan of Seoul, South Korea; son Dr. David Keebok Warren of Austin TX; beloved grandchildren Sofia and Niko Warren, Abby and Josh Rudin, Ayune and Ara Warren. FUNERAL NOTICE: A funeral service for Lynette A. Warren is to be held at Christian Assembly Church at 850 Williams St., Pittsfield, on Thursday, April 2nd at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow at the church. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
