Mrs. Mary L. Wendling Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mrs. Mary L. Wendling, 79, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 30, 2021. Born in North Adams, MA on July 2, 1942, the daughter of the late William and Rose Anna Scott Goodermote, she graduated from Drury High School. Mary worked at Sprague Electric and GE before spending the rest of her career in the Pittsfield Public School system, where she worked as a paraprofessional and a member of the administrative staff at Pittsfield High School. It was from there that she retired, after many years of dedicated service. Among many things, she enjoyed bingo, baking, and spending time with her great granddaughters, Lyla and Natalie. Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband of 22 years, Michael “Peter” Wendling, Sr., whom she married on February 15, 1987. Michael passed away on October 22, 2009. She is survived by her daughter, Suzan O’Neil and fiancé; Tom McAuliffe, as well as her brother, Isadore “Hank” Goodermote. Mary leaves behind her two grandchildren, Quinn Dushanek and Jillian Bamford and husband Dean, as well as her two great granddaughters, Lyla and Natalie Bamford. Besides her parents and husband, Mary was predeceased by two sisters, Janice and Florence, and brother, William. Funeral Notice: A graveside service for Mary L. Wendling will be Monday, December 13, 2021, at 12 noon at Pittsfield Cemetery. Due to the recent rise in Covid cases, to best ensure everybody’s health, all who attend these services will be required to wear face masks.
