October 6, 1934 - January 3, 2022
Patricia J. (Tremblay) Gleason passed away peacefully on January 3, 2022 after a long illness. Born in Pittsfield, MA on October 6, 1934, she was the daughter of the late J. Eugene Tremblay and Evelyn M. (Busti) Tremblay. She spent her childhood in Farnums, MA and later moved with her family to Cheshire, MA. A 1952 graduate of Adams High School, she went on to attend Berkshire Business College where she studied to become a secretary. She began her career at General Electric in the Ordinance Division. She then went on to work with many local attorneys, including Jack Martin and Boraski and McLaughlin, where she continued until her retirement in 2001. On June 25, 1960 she wed the late Donald J. Gleason and for the next 51 years, together they raised 5 children—James, Melinda, Nancy, Kate and Donna, all of Pittsfield. They also welcomed 9 grandchildren- Casey Winston Connelly and her husband Bob, Jessica, Kendall and Andrew Winston and Haylee, Brooklyn, Rileigh, Jordyn and Jack Gleason. She was also blessed to have 3 great grandchildren-Mason, Levi and Neive. In addition, she leaves her sister-in-law Jane Gleason Cyr as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert Tremblay, and her son-in-law Michael A. Winston. One of her favorite things was attending any event that featured her grandchildren. She went to countless soccer, baseball, softball, volleyball, and basketball games as well as violin recitals. While we all imagine that we’re our mother’s favorite, in our family it was no contest—it was Donna. The greatest joy of her life was her youngest daughter and constant companion. Though she struggled with her health in her later years, Donna was the reason she got out of bed every morning and Donna gave her the will to live beyond what we all expected.
