Patricia Anne Smith

January 10, 1946 - December 30, 2020

Patricia Anne Smith, 74, passed on to her eternal life on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 in her home in Dalton, MA. Born in Pittsfield, on January 10, 1946 to Walter and Jeannette Martin, "Pat" was known for her passionate and fighting spirit, loyalty, love of her children and grandchildren and warm heart. A mother of five children, she valued family above everything, never refusing help to anyone who needed it. She was a compassionate woman and worked as a private caregiver and in the mental health field after returning to school as a mature student, earning an Associate's Degree, while still working and raising her family. Once Pat put her mind to something, she could not be stopped, and it carried her through countless battles in her life. Pat loved God and knew her Bible. Through all the challenges in her life, Pat held true to her faith and love of God, allowing her to overcome countless obstacles and health issues This, too, is something she also passes on to her family and the knowledge that through prayer and faith all is possible. She was a lover of music, reading, animals and known for her natural talent of cooking. Anyone who ate her food was never disappointed and she was called often by her children for her recipes. She is survived by 3 of her children and their spouses, Ronald Mack (Donna), Deborah A. Nykorchuk, Kimberley M. Twitchell( Steven) and her cat Charlie, as well as 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and 8 brothers and sisters, Richard, Christine, Walter, Linda, Therese, Holly, Michael, Michelle and their families. She is preceded by her parents, her brother Gerald, son William Mack, grandchildren Jeremy Mack and Dean Twitchell, and spouse Carl Smith. Her family will miss her warmth and humor, as well as the strength she brought to those around her.
