The Man. The Myth. The Legend. He walked into the room, you knew he was there. Mr. Robert A. Kirchner, 47, of Pittsfield, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 4, 2021. Born in Pittsfield, MA to Melody Jean Kirchner Effendi and Bachtiar Effendi, he attended Taconic High School and Berkshire Community College. Rob was a man of many skills. Over the years, he worked as a carpenter, blacksmith, landscaper, security guard and as a Chef; his true passion, a romantic chef for his Jenny. Among many things, he enjoyed the sea, taking his lovely Jenny with him, to many a shore, Jamaica, being his most treasured. He was a master craftsman--if he set his mind to it; he studied it, learned it, then mastered it and, in this manner, created many hand-crafted treasures that contained a piece of his heart. He was a member of the motorcycle club, The Code, Brothers? Do we need to say more? Robert is survived by his wife; the love of his life, the former Jennifer Rose Robitaille, whom he married on September 8, 2015. He leaves his children, who he loved with all of his heart, whom he called his greatest accomplishment in life, Robert Alan Kirchner, Jr. (Jennifer), Jared Matthew Kirchner (Samantha), and Hailey Jean Kirchner (Greg), as well as his siblings, Jeremy D. Gomes, Jason M. Gomes (Alexis), Ardy I. Effendi (Catharina), and Amanda M. Norton. He leaves his sweetest of all blessings, his grandchildren, Raelynn and Magnus, whom his time with was never to be but always longed for. Robert leaves countless other family and friends, who are too many to list individually. Though our hearts are broken, now we are lightened by the knowledge that his memory will live on through all of those who were blessed to have known him. Funeral Notice: Funeral services for Mr. Robert A. Kirchner will be private. A public celebration of his life will be held at a later date when COVID-19 restrictions are lifted and all are able to safely gather. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Eleanor Sonsini Animal Shelter in care of the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North Street, Pittsfield, MA 01210, in his memory. Donations CANNOT be made online, but may be made through the Dwyer Funeral Home.
