Ms. Cynthia H. Dixon

Cynthia H. Dixon, 70, of Spring Hill, FL passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 18, 2021 from complications from Covid-19. Born in Pittsfield, MA on October 27, 1950, daughter of the late Walter F. Dixon, Jr. She is survived by her mother, Ardath A. Dixon (Goodrich) of Pittsfield, MA. She was educated in Pittsfield and graduated from Pittsfield High School. Cindy worked at Marland Mold as an Administrative Assistant before moving to Colorado Springs, CO where she enjoyed many outdoor activities. She later moved to San Diego, CA and was District Manager for San Diego Medical Personnel Services for several years. Cindy later lived in Bellingham, WA for several years while employed at Quality Health Care as District Manager. She was later employed by Pacific Health Care in Los Angeles, CA developing and implementing their home health program. Cindy enjoyed helping people and eventually opened her own health care company called Special Care Nursing Services in Toluca Lake, CA. She owned and operated her business for 25 years before retiring to Spring Hill, FL. While caring for her patients she also owned and operated Sit and Stitch, selling specialty yarns and needlepoint canvases. Cindy was ambitious and had a great deal of energy. Using intricate stitches she loved knitting shawls and scarves, crocheted blankets and was an expert at needlepoint, giving many beautiful gifts to family and friends. She traveled extensively, enjoyed sailing, taking cruises and was an avid reader. For many years Cindy loved arranging family get togethers during the summer months at Cape Cod, MA. It was one of her favorite places. Cindy is survived by her mother, Ardath A. Dixon of Pittsfield and by her three sisters, Darleen Siglar and her husband Donald of Thousand Oaks, CA, Christine Tucker and her husband Stephen of Spring Hill, FL and Lorie Harrington and her husband Daniel of Dalton, MA. Three nieces Andrea Gozdick of Dallas, GA, Michelle Cox of Dallas, GA and Paige Harrington of Brockport, NY and one nephew Tylor Harrington of Dalton, MA. Cindy was beloved by family and friends and will be dearly missed. Funeral Notice: Funeral services for Cynthia H. Dixon will be Thursday, September 22, 2022 at 11 am at the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North Street, Pittsfield MA 01201. Burial will follow at Pittsfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Cindy’s memory can be made to Morningside Baptist Church or the Berkshire Humane Society, in care of the Dwyer Funeral Home.
