Mr. David "Dave" F. O'Clair

David (Dave) F. O’Clair, of Richmond, Massachusetts, died in Lenox, Massachusetts on December 12, 2014, following a brief illness. He was born on November 17, 1941, the first son of Francis J. O’Clair and Ida E. (Dean) O’Clair in Nashua, N.H. Dave grew up in Nashua, and graduated from Nashua High School (1959), then received his B.S. from University of New Hampshire in 1963. He entered the U.S.A.F. as a second lieutenant, was a veteran of Vietnam war; serving until 1968 when he left as a Captain. He worked at Monarch Life Insurance Company for nearly 20 years and attained an M.B.A. from American International College. From 1987 on, he served as Vice-President -Real Estate & Securities Investments at Berkshire Life in Pittsfield. He retired in 2001. He served on Board of Directors of Berkshire Medical Center. Always an outdoorsman, Dave truly loved life in the Berkshires, originally as a hunter, but also hiking, wildlife photography and, especially, fishing. He particularly enjoyed his time with the local ROMEOs, the Alford Brook Club in Alford, and was pleased to spend time and volunteer with Taconic Chapter of Trout Unlimited, including Casting for Recovery- a fishing program for women breast cancer survivors.. In retirement, he enjoyed scouting for deer (from his Jeep) and fishing with friends in Massachusetts, New York, and parts of Canada. He liked listening to bluegrass music. He is survived by his two sons: Peter D. O’Clair, of Littleton, Massachusetts and Matthew P. O’Clair of Pittsfield, Massachusetts, as well as by his long time friend, Antonette Furcinite of Lenox, Massachusetts. . He leaves two brothers, Donald R. O’Clair of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts and Ronald J. O’Clair of Manchester, N.H., as well as nephews, nieces and numerous cousins. A celebration of Dave’s life will take place on Saturday, December 20, 2014. Visiting hour from 11:00 A.M., followed by service at 12:00 with Rev. Peter M.
