David J. St. Pierre, of Pittsfield, Massachusetts, passed away on February 5, 2026. David lived a life defined by curiosity, generosity and a deep appreciation for the world and its many cultures. As a partner of an international import business, his work took him across the globe—an experience he cherished, as it allowed him to immerse himself in different traditions, religions, and ways of life. These journeys shaped his outlook and deepened his lifelong fascination with people and history. An avid and thoughtful reader, David’s interests were wide and richly varied. He was especially drawn to primitive and cultural art, music, native dress, religion, politics, and foreign affairs. He held a particular fascination with the monarchs and royal families of the 19th and 20th centuries, finding in history both wonder and perspective. He also possessed a natural talent for decorating and a keen eye for aesthetics, seeing beauty in the details of both objects and spaces. David was a generous and compassionate man, quietly supporting organizations that aided those in need, with a special concern for children and the downtrodden. He was a long-time parishioner of St. Mark’s Church in Pittsfield, where his faith reflected his deep belief that all people are deserving of dignity, kindness and respect. To his friends, David was a steady and attentive presence—an excellent listener, always willing to help, and someone you could rely on in times of need. He enjoyed the simple joys of life: sharing meals with friends, attending Broadway theatre, traveling the world and taking in the quiet art of people-watching in new and familiar places alike. He had a wonderful sense of humor and an easy ability to laugh at himself. Those who knew him will remember his gentle mischief, his innocence, and a certain naïveté that made it hard for anyone to remain cross with him for long. David loved animals deeply, from feeding birds to caring devotedly for his long-term feline companions. He found peace in nature and was often happiest in its quiet beauty. At home in the Berkshires, he especially enjoyed basking in the sun while listening to the radio, and savoring a glass of wine—content in the world he loved. Funeral Notice: Funeral services for David will be Wednesday, May 20, 2026, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am at St. Mark’s Church, celebrated by the Rev. John Salatino, Pastor. David will be remembered with great affection and gratitude by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His warmth, curiosity, and gentle spirit leave a lasting imprint on those he touched.
