Mr. Francis "Frank" Schultz

Francis (Frank) William Schultz, 65, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2015. He was the husband of Pamela Troy Schultz. Born in Pittsfield, MA on May 8, 1950, Frank was the son of the late Francis J. and Rita B. Schultz. He was an honors graduate of Pittsfield High School, Class of 1968. Continuing his education, first at Fairfield University, then at Williams College, Frank earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Physics in 1972 and his Masters with honors in Business Administration from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts in 1975. Frank began his career with General Electric Company in the Manufacturing Management Program in Schenectady, NY. He transferred back to his hometown of Pittsfield with GE’s Power Transformer Division. He also worked for GE Ordnance Systems, GE Plastics and eventually Sabic, traveling all over the world, befriending co-workers wherever he went. Frank and Pam were married on August 9, 1969. They celebrated their 45th anniversary with all of their family, children and grandchildren, on Cape Cod in 2014. Frank shared his life with his beloved wife, Pam, and his four children, Heather, Scott, Tricia and Troy. They were lucky to have four loving families: Heather and Patrick Tierney and their children, Shane, Molly, Sadie, and Tessie; Scott and Melissa Schultz and their children, Ayla and Leo; Tricia and Eric Rekeda and their children, Shea and Desmond; Troy and Lacey Schultz, who are welcoming a daughter, Briar Frances, in the coming weeks. They shared time with their children in Massachusetts, New York and Oregon. He also leaves his sister, Cindy Dow, and her family and was predeceased by his sister, Mary Schultz Paris, in 1978. The Schultz family always felt the love and support of their large extended families, both Troy and Schultz, and their many dear friends. They enjoyed many great times with their dearest friends, Tony and Kathy Massimiano. Frank enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved coaching and watching his children and his grandchildren compete and play sports. He was a well-respected athlete who continued to play golf, ski, bike, and hike. He often enjoyed these activities and other outdoor adventures with his grandchildren, who ranged from 2 months to 17 years old. He savored great meals, fine wine and beer and loved sharing all of these pleasures in the company of good friends. We hope that people honor his memory by thinking of him as they engage in these activities he enjoyed. Frank was an incredible father and grandfather who exercised love and patience while guiding everyone with the highest of principles. He was a hard-working man with integrity and treated everyone he met with respect and dignity. He demonstrated good sportsmanship in play and in life. He valued people and their opinions and appreciated people from all walks of life. He was a devoted husband and father, who loved to travel abroad and relax at home with his wife.
