Mrs. Kathryn B. Dutelle

Mrs. Kathryn B. (Kay) Dutelle, 75 died Saturday June 15, 2013 at the Great Barrington Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, after a long illness. Born in Newton, MA on May 10, 1938 she was the daughter of the late James L. and Marion Gould Breck. She completed her high school education at Pittsfield High School. Kay served an enlistment In the U.S. Navy during which time she felt privileged to march in President Kennedy’s Inauguration day parade. For approximately 25 years she conducted the County Canine Dog Obedience school and was well liked by both clients and the people who worked with her. She was proud of the fact that some of the local veterinarians would refer people with difficult dogs to her . She also bred and sold Shelties both in her own name and as Kay-Dee Shelties when her daughter came on board. Kay loved camping and swimming. For many years she was an avid horsewoman. She was employed in retail sales for a time; then worked for approximately 20 years in the Insurance office of Stevenson & company. She loved children and was loved by them. After her own children were old enough she worked as a Teacher’s aide, and later in two of the area day care centers. She leaves her loving husband Charles J. Dutelle of Pittsfield whom she married July 12, 1980. A son Mark Dutelle, currently working in Sapporo Japan. She also leaves a daughter Dorothy ”Dorrie” Dutelle of Shelton, Ct. Two brothers Wm. G. Breck of Ephraim, Utah and L. Douglas Breck of Salt Lake City, Utah. A sister Virginia Breck of Willow Springs, North Carolina and numerous nieces and nephews and their children. FUNERAL NOTICE Mrs. Kathryn B. (Kay) Dutelle died June 16, 2013. Funeral services will be Friday June 21,2013 at 10:00 a.m. from the DWYER FUNERAL HOME followed by Services at 11:00 a.m. in St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church celebrated by Rev. Jennifer Gregg, Priest Associate. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours will be at the DWYER FUNERAL HOME will be Thursday June 20 from 4 to 7 p.m. If friends desire, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Western Mass care of the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North St. Pittsfield, MA 01201.
