Mrs. Marlene R. Haas

Mrs. Marlene R. Haas, 76, of Lanesborough, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 20, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Chicago, IL, on March 9, 1950, she was the eldest of eight girls born to the late Genesio and Dorothy Genesi Breda. Years later, Marlene took her last breath on the same day her mother had. Her last spoken word was “momma”, bringing solace to her family, assuring them that Marlene was reunited with those in heaven whom she had always loved so dearly. Marlene was a graduate of St. Joseph High School in North Adams, MA, class of 1968, and later would become the co-owner of County Auto Wrecking working alongside of her husband She was also a faithful communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary in North Adams. Marlene was always up for a round of bowling, or a game of BINGO, and was particularly fond of crafting, going to the casino and collecting dolls. Above all else, she loved her family, and especially enjoyed her trips to Florida with them, cruising and camping in Lake George. She found joy in watching her sons, grandson, and great-grandson race at Lebanon Valley Speedway, Marlene is survived by her beloved husband, Mervin D. Haas, with whom she would have celebrated her 57th wedding anniversary on the 13th of September. She leaves behind her sons, Adam Haas (Tanya), and Jeffery Haas(Nicole), as well as her seven grandchildren, Brett Haas (Abby), Andrew Haas, Chloe Haas, Noah Haas, Ella Haas, Blake Weichmann, and Miranda Weichmann, all of whom held a special place in her heart. She is also survived by her two great grandchildren, Brodie Haas and Paige Haas, both of whom she adored. Additionally, Marlene leaves her sisters, Jean Breda Noyes, Lynne Breda, Donna Breda Turner, Debbie DeMarisco, Janice DiStefano, and Nancy Vittone. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Barbara Breda Bolte. Marlene’s family would like to extend their sincere gratitude and appreciation to her caregivers, Jill Lapointe, her grandson Noah Haas, the staff at Springside Nursing Home, as well as Elder Services. A special thank you to Berkshire Medical Center. Their compassion, care, and support went beyond expectation and certainly did not go unnoticed. Funeral Notice: Funeral services for Marlene will be Thursday, August 27, 2026, at 11am at the Dwyer-Wellington Funeral Home in Pittsfield, 220 East St, Pittsfield MA 01201. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday, August 26, 2026, from 4pm to 7pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Lanesboro Ambulance in care of the Dwyer-Wellington Funeral Home.
