Ms. Mary M. Kelly

Ms. Mary M. Kelly, 63, of Pittsfield, passed away on Friday, October 13, 2023. Born in Pittsfield, MA, on June 11, 1960, the daughter of the late Robert and Norma Turner Plankey, she graduated from Lee High School in 1978, and later completed the nursing program at Berkshire Community College. Afterwards she earned her Dietitian and Nutrition Degree at The State University of New York SUNY. For the majority of her career, Mary worked at Berkshire Medical Center and Kimball Farms. Later in life while semi-retired she worked for the Italian American Club, and donated countless hours to UNICO. You may even have seen her serving the best pizza in town at East Side Cafe. She enjoyed watching the Patriots and Red Sox and was always the first to have a Superbowl Square. Always willing to lend a hand, she loved organizing events and fundraisers for a variety of causes. She was an avid pitch player and enjoyed playing cards and table games with friends and family. She loved to cook and bake and was always trying new recipes. Her cookies and lasagna were some of the favorites. And if you ever visited her, you were sure to witness her love for hummingbirds and may have even seen a few flying around. Mary enjoyed spending time with her family. She adored her brothers; making lots of memories during her trips to Chicago to visit Jimmy and his family, as well as attending the many BBQ’s and family outings at Bobby's. She never missed a holiday party or time spent with family. Her son TJ, wife Tracie, and their daughters Paisley and Abby meant the world to her and they loved her so very much. The girls brought so much joy and excitement to Mary and she was sure to spoil them every time she saw them. The thoughtfulness and love she shared with them will always be near and dear to their hearts. Mary is survived by her son, TJ and his wife Tracie Kelly along with her grandchildren Paisley, and Abby Kelly of Suffield CT, a daughter Kimberly and husband James Wilusz and their children Connor and Kyle of Pittsfield MA., her brother Bobby and Donna Plankey of Lee MA. and her brother Jimmy and Eva Plankey of Chicago IL. Funeral Notice: At Mary’s request, there will be no formal funeral services. A private celebration of life party will be held in her honor. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Berkshire Humane Society, 214 Barker Road, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
