Mrs. Patricia "Pat" Lyon

Ms. Patricia “Pat” R. Lyon, 83, of Pittsfield, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 19, 2022. Born in Pittsfield, MA, on June 23, 1938, the daughter of the late Chester and Ruth Newton Morton. She graduated from Pittsfield High School and later from Bay Path College. Patricia was employed by General Electric for many years, where she worked as a secretary. It was there she met her future husband, Eugene “Gene” Lyon, a widower with 4 children. With tender-hearted grace, Pat married Gene and became a stepmom of 4. They then added another daughter to their loving family. She retired from GE in 1977 after many years of dedicated service. Among many things, she enjoyed crafting, cooking, baking, and selflessly providing love and care to her family. No family gathering was complete without one of her famously delicious desserts. Pat had an amazing smile that will be remembered by all that knew her. Her unwavering devotion to her husband, children, grandchildren, and family has no doubt not only earned her wings of an Angel, but also an eternal place in the hearts of those she loved and who loved her. Pat was predeceased by her beloved husband of 46 years, Eugene “Jeep” Lyon, whom she married on June 23, 1973. Eugene passed away in 2019. She is survived by her daughter, Keri R. Costa of Lanesborough, and stepchildren Linda S. Pruyne (Robert) of Lanesborough, Debra J. Lyon of Pittsfield, Patricia E. Reed (Lewis) of Pittsfield, and John W. Lyon of San Jose, CA. Pat is also survived by 12 grandchildren; Ava L. Costa, Ella R. Costa, Tammi E. Haines, Robert C. Pruyne, Jr., Edward W. Casella, Melissa E. Guinen, Brandon L. Depson, John W. Lyon, Jr., Ashley Reed, Karl Reed, Joshua Reed, and Dana Victorino, and many great grandchildren. Pat was predeceased by her only brother William C. Morton (Linda) of Hingham, MA., and survived by her two favorite nieces, Anette M. Toms (David) of Bristol, RI. and Kellie A. Biggs (Randy) of Nashua, NH. She will be sadly missed by all those who were the recipients of her kindness, her love, her compassion, and her beautiful smile. Funeral Notice: Funeral services for Mrs. Patricia R Lyon will be private, a webcast of which will be available for all who would like to view. A public hour of visitation will be Thursday, March 3, 2022 from 5 pm to 6 pm at the Dwyer-Wellington Funeral Home, 220 East Street, Pittsfield MA 01201. In lieu of flowers, donations in Pat’s memory can be made to the Mt Greylock ECF of Pittsfield in care of the Dwyer-Wellington Funeral Home.
