Mr. Paul A. Quinto

Mr. Paul A. Quinto, 78, of 58 Garland Ave., died Sunday evening, November 25, 2012 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Pittsfield on March 25, 1934 the son of Bonaventura and Elizabeth Panno Quinto, he was a 1951 graduate of Pittsfield High School. Mr. Quinto also attended the University of Maryland and attended courses at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Berkshire Community College. Mr. Quinto worked for General Electric in Pittsfield for forty one years. He was a supervisor in the Power Transformer Department and later became a Computer Operation Specialist in the business department. He retired in 1992. During his employment at General Electric, he took a leave of absence to serve in the US Army from 1956 to 1958. He was a communicant of St. Charles Church and former communicant of Mount Carmel Church. He was member of the GE Quarter Century Club and the GE Pensioners. Paul enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and bird hunting. His greatest joy was spending time with family, especially his children and grandchildren. He leaves his wife of 36 years, the former Mary Hayes; his five children, John Quinto and his wife Terry of Pittsfield, Lt. Colonel Michael Quinto and his wife Amy of Newport, NC, Christopher Quinto of Pittsfield, Anthony Quinto of Dalton and Brigid Naventi and her husband Gabriel of Richmond; 10 grandchildren, Kevin, Anna, Adam, Ethan, Nicholas, Elizabeth and Gemma Quinto and Paul, Luke and John Naventi; a sister in Law, Geraldine Quinto and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Alfred Quinto. Funeral Notice: Funeral services for Mr. Paul A. Quinto will be Thursday, November 29, 2012 at 9 a.m. from the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North St., Pittsfield MA with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Charles Church, celebrated by the Rev. A. Peter Gregory, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday, November 28, 2012 from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wounded Warrior Project or the St. Charles Church Memorial Fund, care of the Dwyer Funeral Home, in his memory.
