Mr. Richard "Dick" Premerlani

Mr. Richard "Dick" C. Premerlani, formerly of Pittsfield, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 30, 2026, with his family by his side. Born in Pittsfield on January 12, 1945, he was the son of the late Ulisse and R. Alma (Daoust) Premerlani. He graduated from Pittsfield High School with the Class of 1962 and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in Engineering from UMass in 1966, followed by a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University in 1968. For most of his career, Dick worked as a mechanical engineer for General Electric and General Dynamics. He retired in 2008 after 40 years of dedicated service. Among his many passions, Dick most cherished time spent with his family. From 1978 through 2005, the entire family gathered each August in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, a beloved tradition that spanned 27 years and included his parents, children, sisters, and their families. In later years, Dick and Vicki continued their family vacations with their 3 children and families in Chatham, Massachusetts. He also held a special place in his heart for Italy, where he enjoyed visiting relatives from both his and Vicki's families. He and Vicki shared a remarkable retirement with friends in both Hilton Head, SC and south Florida where they golfed and enjoyed many sunny days together. Most recently, he traveled with his entire family to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. He was especially proud to share this meaningful place with them, having successfully climbed the Grand Teton in 1970. Over the past three years, Dick continued to demonstrate remarkable perseverance and unwavering devotion to his family. He rarely missed an opportunity to attend special family and grand-children events with Vicki. Dick was an avid golfer and treasured the friendships and experiences the game brought to both him and Vicki. He enjoyed memorable golf trips to destinations including Pebble Beach and Ireland. One of his proudest accomplishments in retirement was serving as a caddie for a close friend for more than ten years. Richard is survived by his beloved wife, Victoria "Vicki" (Guarda) Premerlani. Together for 65 years and married for nearly 58 years. He leaves his son, Richard Premerlani and his wife, Lisa, and their children, Joseph and Henry; his daughter, Kristen Wozny and her husband, John, and their children, Luke and Baya; and his daughter, Lauren Mackey and her husband, Jeffrey. He also leaves his sisters, Anne Pictrowski and her husband, Walter, along with their children, Alissa and Marc; and Catherine Calhoun and her husband, Rory, along with their children, Marcie and Ryan. Funeral Notice: Funeral services for Richard will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, beginning with visitation from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Pittsfield. A Funeral Mass will immediately follow at 11:30 a.m., celebrated by the Rev. Steven Montesanti, Pastor. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association in care of the Dwyer Funeral Home.
