Mr. Robert K. Stracener

Mr. Robert K. Stracener, of Pittsfield, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, just months before celebrating his 60th birthday. Born in Los Angeles, CA., on January 9, 1966, son of the late Ted Stracener and Sharon Byers, he graduated from Pinole Valley High School. From a young age, Rob’s passion was working on and with cars. Holding many jobs in the automotive industry, he began his career as a mechanic at his father’s shop, Ted’s Automotive, in Concord, CA. He taught Automotive Tech at Taconic High School, and was most recently employed with his friend, Fran Marchand, at New England Automotive, and later working alongside his son at Berkshire Mazda. Apart from working on his truck, and spending time with his family, Rob spent many years as a member in the local Harley Owners Group. He enjoyed riding his motorcycles with his wife, MaryKay Morgan, and his life-long best friend Paul Fitzgerald. He was an avid Raider’s fan, and in his children’s younger years, he enjoyed coaching his daughter’s softball team, as well as his sons’ baseball team. He was predeceased by his wife of 39 years, MaryKay Morgan, who passed away in April of 2024. He met Marykay at just 18 years old, and they went on to build a loving life and family together. Robert was also predeceased by his son, Josh Stracener, who tragically passed away at 16 in 2005. Rob is survived by his daughter, Jaclyn Carnevale, her husband Rick Carnevale, and his son Joey Stracener. Being a Papa was one of his greatest joys in life. He leaves behind his grandchildren, Chloe, Codan, Ava, Laila, and his great-grandson, Jadiel. He loved to spoil and spend time with each of them. Rob came from a large family, and spent his early years in California with his siblings; Shelley, Trisha, Jason, George, Ron, Don, and Diana. In the last year of his life, he formed a special connection with Cheryl Rose, and they shared so many laughs and good times together. Rob spent his life building long-lasting relationships with his friends, cousins, nieces, aunts, uncles, and more. He made a large impact on so many peoples’ lives and he will be missed dearly by all. Funeral Notice: Funeral services for Rob will be Friday, December 12, 2025, at 5:30pm at the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North Street, Pittsfield MA 01201.
