Scott Charles Manning

Scott Charles Manning unexpectedly passed away on August 27, 2026. Sadly, Scott passed shortly before celebrating his 57th birthday “week,” being born on October 4,1969, in Pittsfield MA to the late Robert W. and Barbara A. Manning. He graduated from the Carpentry prorgram at Taconic High School with the class of 1988. For his life-long career, he worked as a dedicated contractor, and later as his own self-contractor for Manning Construction. Through his career, he worked alongside his late brother Bradley Manning and many of his close friends. Together, with many homeowners who became friends, they worked tirelessly to build and create beautiful homes. His work was something for which he was deeply admired and in which he felt a great sense of pride. Besides his career, he made many close connections through his hobbies and passions. He reigned many times as a champion playing darts, hit golf balls with family and friends, enjoyed fishing, walking his dog Bailey, and happily helping his wife build projects around their home together. Scott was known as many things; a friend, a father, a husband and partner, a creator, and, as he would put it, “a brother.” Living a loving and giving life, he would ensure that anyone in need would receive his help regardless of someone’s life position. He found a friend in anyone who would give him the chance and in return, he was loved endlessly by many. Scott is survived by his loving and devoted wife and partner Crystal Manning, married on July 25, 1998. They met as teens and recently celebrated 38 years together, and 28 years married. He is survived by his two children Madison Manning and Mason Manning, of whom he was very proud, seeing both to pursue a college education. Additionally, he is survived by his sisters Karen Vogel and Kim Poplaski, many nieces and nephews, his future son-in-law, and many friends. While Scott will be deeply missed, a quote by Sara Rian, “If we can no longer walk through the world together, then I’ll walk through it believing that you are behind every beautiful thing I see.” Scott can be found in the many stories and memories shared by the beloved people he made beautiful connections with. Funeral Notice: Calling hours for Scott will be Saturday, September 5, 2026, from 12noon to 2pm at the Dwyer-Wellington Funeral Home in Pittsfield, 220 East Street, Pittsfield MA 01201.
