Mr. Stephen R. Ricci

Stephen R. Ricci, 63, of Pittsfield, passed away suddenly on Sunday, June 2, 2013 at Berkshire Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Born in Pittsfield, October 17, 1949 the son of the late Harry and Carmella Schiavone Ricci, he attended local schools and was a 1967 graduate of Pittsfield High School. He continued his education at Bentley College and Boston University. He was employed for many years as a realtor for Isgood Realty and managed their Pittsfield office. Previously he was employed by the former Ruffer Real Estate. Over the last three decades Steve established a faithful clientele based on his reputation as a trusted, honest realtor with an encyclopedic knowledge of area residences and commercial properties. He was a member of the Berkshire County Board of Realtors and a former member of the Berkshire Chamber of Commerce. Steve was an avid golfer and a passionate sports fan. He was a diehard Celtics supporter, but when it came to baseball his allegiance oscillated between the Yankees and Red Sox exasperating and confusing those around him. He loved to study, analyze and discuss politics, economics and stock markets. His depth and breadth of knowledge and understanding of these subjects was impressive. However, Steve’s main passion in life was other people. He loved traveling to Maine, Cape Cod and Florida with his family and friends, golfing trips with his buddies and organizing the annual Ricci family reunion. Always a “family first” man, Steve was eagerly anticipating the birth of his first grandchild in July. He and his wife, the former Cheryl Proper, were married August 19, 1978. Besides his wife of Pittsfield, he leaves his son, Nicholas Ricci and his wife Jaclyn (Watroba) of Pittsfield, his brother, David Ricci of Lee, his sister, Linda Talbott and her husband Jeffrey of Haddam, CT, several nieces and nephews, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. FUNERAL NOTICE Stephen R. Ricci, passed away on June 2, 2013. The funeral will be on Friday, June 7, 2013, at 9:00 AM from the Dwyer Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Church celebrated by Rev. Geoffrey Deeker C.S.S. Priest in Residence. Burial will follow in St Joseph’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Thursday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, donations in his memory may be made to Berkshire United Way in care of the funeral home.
