Susanna Lee Brown Wall

Susanna Lee Brown Wall, 61, an educator and administrator with Hillcrest Educational Centers, passed away on August 25, 2017 after a 3-year battle with cancer. She was born in Manchester, NH on April 17, 1956. After short stays in NH and VA, she settled in the Berkshires with her mother and brother. She attended public schools in North Adams, then MCLA where she earned a Bachelor of Psychology Degree as well as a Bachelor of Sociology Degree. Upon completing college, she entered the work force as a youth counselor at Rubicon West in Pittsfield. Beginning in 1979, she worked at Berkshire Training and Employment in many positions; Assessment Counselor, Senior Assessment Counselor, Assessment/Outreach, Intake Specialist, Systems Clerk, Trainer; Youth Counselor/Job Developer, ending her stay there in 1990. During this time, she received her Master’s Degree in Psychology. After leaving BTEP, Sue owned and operated Wall to Wall Billiards where she managed all daily operations of a billiard room/Connelly showroom, including retail sales, public relations, purchasing, and advertisement. In 1992, she joined the staff of Hillcrest Educational Centers as a projects manager where she was responsible for all computer projects, including behavior tracking, target behavior, mailing lists, clinical scheduling, etc. She also spent years in the classroom, helping students reach their full potential. Sue was an avid NASCAR fan, never missing a race on TV, even when visiting family! She also collected the famous Hummel figurines. Sue enjoyed solving word puzzles, logic puzzles, and Sudoku puzzles. Sue is survived by her son, Lee S. White III and a grandson, Cameron, of Pittsfield, her mother, Barbara Young of Middle Granville, NY, and a brother, Alan Brown of Manchester, NH. She will be greatly missed by her nephews, Michael and Jeffrey Brown, and their mother, Michele Brown also of NH. Sue also leaves behind her second family: Lee (Mary) White Sr.; Rick White also of Becket; Lynette (Michael) Bartos of Ohio; Phillip Bartos; Joseph Bartos of NY; Shannen Gade; and Mikael White of Denmark. Funeral Notice: Funeral services for Susanna L. Wall will be Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North St., Pittsfield, MA, celebrated by Rev. William Furey. There will be an hour of visitation prior to the service from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Soldier On or HospiceCare of the Berkshires, care of the Dwyer Funeral Home in her memory.
