Mr. Wilfred Henry Lusignan

Wilfred Henry Lusignan, affectionately known as Papa, Grandpa, Butch, Butchie, and Willie Fred, peacefully departed this life surrounded by his adoring family. Born on July 16, 1943, in Pittsfield, MA, his life journey was a beautiful testament to resilience, compassion, and the power of family. As the youngest child in a single-mother household, Wilfred was raised alongside three cherished older siblings. Despite the absence of a father figure, he thrived under the unwavering strength of his mother and the loving guidance of his siblings. Their familial bond, marked by love and support, defined his upbringing and instilled in him the values of perseverance and kinship. Through financial challenges and life's trials, Wilfred emerged as a beacon of strength, embodying the lessons learned from his close-knit family. After serving in the Navy, Wilfred dedicated decades of his life to Kimberly Clark/Schweitzer-Mauduit in Lee, MA, where he held various positions, including finishing room superintendent, long fiber planner, warehouse manager, labor pool manager, and safety manager. His professional journey was as diverse as his interests, which included scuba diving, fishing, and motorcycling. In his later years, he found joy in watching free-range sailing and in immersing himself in the World of Warcraft gaming universe alongside his brother, Eddie, and online friends. Playing the marble game he built, cards with his family, and cribbage with his grandchildren. Known for his sweet tooth, Wilfred delighted in treats such as A&W root beer floats, Sour Patch Kids, and Cherry Cordials. Wilfred's heart swelled with joy at the thought of being reunited with his beloved wife, Christine, in the heavenly realm. Their enduring love transcended time and space, standing as a testament to the power of their bond. He leaves behind a legacy of love, cherished memories, and a family that he held dear. He is survived by his sons, Stephen (Donna), Michael (Robin), and Thomas (Becky) Lusignan; his daughter, Stacy (Steven) Leslie; and his grandchildren, Bradley Lusignan, Kasey Swing (Anna), Kara Leslie, Brittany Lusignan (fiancé Kevin), Ian Lusignan, Joseph Lusignan, Mitchell Lusignan, Gabrielle Lusignan, Alyssa Lusignan, El Lusignan, Caitlyn Lusignan, Hanna Lusignan, and Theo Lusignan, as well as Benjamin Lusignan and numerous great-grandchildren. He leaves behind his sister, Diana Sandke, as well as many family members, all of whom held a special place in his heart. Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Edmond and Paul Lusignan. Wilfred cherished his family deeply, finding immense joy in their presence and creating lasting memories together. Though his absence leaves a profound void, his memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Funeral Notice: While the celebration of Wilfred’s remarkable life will be private, let us all honor his legacy with A&W root beer, his favorite songs, good food, and the cherished stories that made his life so special. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of the Dwyer Funeral Home.
